Hey everyone,

I opened a Frappr map for the Fuselage. It's a neat tool that allows everyone to put a pushpin where they live so we can see how spread out we are. Whether you are an active poster or an occasional lurker, go ahead and add your pin to the map. Let's see how quickly we can fill in the 50 states, and how far around the world we reach.
Check out our Frappr!

jdam- not at all curious. The media have been having a love affair with Obama since the primaries. Did you see the SNL episode where they did a spoof of a debate between Obama and Clinton? They hard-balled Hilary with an uncomfortable question, then they address Obama with, "How are you? Are you comfortable? Can I get you a pillow?" I think that said it all.

jgannon, "Kit"Marlowe- I think if we could pinpoint Locke's real role, it would lay open the show. Because season 5 Locke is so much more like season 1 Locke...ok, wait...the show has an overlying redemption theme. Locke made progress over the seasons like the rest, but now that whomever is impersonating him is in control, he's back to being the same as he was at the beginning. Does that mean that he is on the side he was in the beginning? I've spun myself in a circle again...guess I'll just have to continue to wait!!!

Observation: In most fiction and sci=fi stories, major people of importance or title in the real world are often represented by fictional stand-ins or just omitted altogether. In the Fringe finale Olivia is taken to an alternate version of Earth where she is standing in an office on the top floor of....the World Trade Center! In the office on a desk there is a New York Times newspaper stating that Obama is moving into the newly remodeled White House. On the new Transformers movie, they mention moving or protecting President Obama. Alias and Lost never mentioned a president (or any other major figurehead) by name. Two programs mention Obama less than two months apart. Curious???

VivaLaLost! Writer's and producers don't take Plot suggestions from the public, ever. It's just not how Hollywood works. And it's not about snubbing the public or anything, it's a legal issue between the various guilds in Hollywood.

If you think your idea is really good, you need to write up a Treatment or Spec Script, and then find an agency that will represent you as a writer and submit to the studio in question. In this case, that's Paramount. Back in the day, when there was still a Star Trek show on TV, no matter which version, Paramount was one of the few studios in Hollywood that would take unsolicited stories from the public, or unrepresented writers. Not sure if they still do take Spec Scripts, but they used to.

Either way, this is just about the only way to get story ideas into the hands of people who make Film and TV.

Hi 'Lagelings all!

HIATUS PROJECT

Deus ex Machina

- What on earth does Locke's mom mean with that immaculate conception thing? I just have a feeling it's really important.
- Locke creates a trebuchet...I ask for the umpteenth time: HOW DOES HE KNOW THESE THINGS - LOL!
- OMG, what a CREEPY CREEPY vision!!!
- Boone's reaction to the mention of Theresa is amazing - awesome job, Ian S.!
- ok, file in mind for later - Theresa falls and breaks her neck when Boone was 6.
- YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY, Des' light - Locke's faith kinda restored!

Do No Harm

- WHOA - Jack says "Don't tell me what I can't do"!
- one death, one life...hmmmmmm. Coincidential - I THINK NOT - LOL!
- Tell Shannon what?? Boone's last words are "Tell Shannon..."

The Greater Good

I adore the Sayid eps like this one and Enter 77. I didn't catch a whole lotta mythology in this one, so I just sort of enjoyed at face value...although I know, I know, NOTHING in Lost is at face value - LOL! I'll rewatch and see... :)

Born to Run

Ok, a LOT of possible clues and mythology in this one...

- What's in Kate's letter - must be about her mom?
- Hysterical - Charlie enters with the word "platinum" and we just saw Kate as PLATINUM blonde, heeee!
- Arzt becomes part of the "push" to manipulate the Losties - "you gotta leave, like, yesterday..."
- Heeeeeeey, grown-up Tom! :)
- Why is Kate burning that Miller lady's passport?
- Michael tells Walt that it may be a problem finding the Island again...ok, how does he know?
- Sayid sez "GET A CLUE, we're not meant to get in. Echoes Boone, actually, now that I think about it...
- OH WOW - the New Kids lunchbox they "stole" (the one Jacob intervened and paid for) as kids is the time capsule!!
- 1989 - Kate's already running - "and you know why"...that's gonna be important...
- Locke touches Walt, Walt get freaked - "Don't open it, Mr. Locke!"
- OOOOOOH, it's JOANNA's passport!
- OMG, Kate's mom's reaction, what is that about?!
- Kate leaves the little plane behind - the Marshall gets it back...and get this, he puts it in a safety deposit box! Why the special treatment, so to speak, why do that for a little toy plane?
- WOW...Sawyer really twists the knife - "nothing here worth staying for" - OUCH.
- Okaaay, Walt knows something and wants to go...he doesn't know he'll be captured and set off that whole set of events? A blind spot?

***********************************

JDAM - Thanks muchly, it was a pleasure! Oh yeah, SW is part of me, and that it's spoofed and stretched and all that is only proof of how classic and incredible the original is. Oh - and I'm a girl - LOL!

Kendall Thank you, I'm so glad you liked the idea...and absolutely, doing that with the numbers is cool also!

OMF - No problem, hon, you've got plenty on your plate - a cut and paste is a great idea and tool - so it misfired once, so what - LOL!

Lots of 'Lage love to every...single...one of you all everybody - see ya in anothah post, yeah? :D

Namaste

Ebdim9th We have only one real comic book store. Then there are the usual Borders/bookstores that carry a limited range of each. I tned to look for a Buffy/Angel issue and then I might try a different title. It's rare that I read a Marvel/DC comic.

LOST might be a good opportunity for comics.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
(best not read until watched)
Best quote - "The Fallen shall rise again." What is the Fallen? It is a race of alien beings that visited Earth millions of years ago, possibly pre-dating man. Some never left. I'll leave the robot alien part out to 'simplify' things.
The first scene with Megan Fox shows her painting a 'devil' on a motorcycle gas tank.
Second best quote of movie (agent looking up at Optimus Prime) - "If we were made in God's image, who made him?"
Third best quote of movie - A professor turns to Sam and says, "I am the Aplha and the Omega."
The Decepticons resurrect Megatron from the ocean floor. He is found with octopi and starfish all over him in the "deepest, coldest ocean trench in the world."???
Sam's roomate has a poster on the wall that says, "He's watching you!"
Sam is attacked by a girl he met that turns out to be an alien in disguise. She was so realistic he even let her kiss him (later commenting it tasted like diesel).
Part of the story takes place in Egypt among the pyramids.
In Egypt, they locate a tomb of ancient aliens that held a key to unlock a doomsday weapon. It turns out the Fallen leader was a greedy, ruthless Decepticon who made the machine to eat 'suns' and transfer the power to himself and his followers (thus plunging a solar system into darkness and decay).
Fourth best quote (almost first) - Agent Simmons stands in the doorway of a pyramid and says, "This is just about the biggest doorway I have ever seen."
One of the Decepticons transformed and combined with several other Decepticons to form a 'super-sized transformer who then started to suck up everything around him into his mouth'. He even tried to eat an Autobot in the process.
These were some of the 'interesting' highlights and quotes in the movie. On a final note, the army squad that helps the Autobots hunt down Decepticons is called U.S. Army Strike Team 'Nest'. Their logo is a sword. The day Cloverfield was released, a final picture appeared on the 1-18-08 website that had a picture of a sword on the back.
Autobots, roll out!

so far today it's 103 degrees and climbing, so I think I'll stick with juice from the cart.

Thing that made my eyes widen just a bit this time thru:
Kate says to Claire- "this baby is all of ours." oooo!

cried my eyes out AGAIN when Boone died.

Remembered how feelings about Locke began right at the beginning being back and forth and still don't know which side to put him on. I'd like to apply the best possible motives to him, though.

Sayid: *sigh* that's all

Finally we see Jack snap. He is mortal!

ChrsMarlowe, comic books are to hard to keep up with around here, only one small comic book store in the whole area, the Books a Millionses are very inconsistent in what they carry and can't be counted on, but I did pick up a couple of Dark Tower comics....

Ebdim9th A valient attempt!

I get comics on a regular basis, and I've seen the Dark Tower stuff. What I get seems to depend on what looks good. I've gotten some issues of Mouseguard that are good. Anita Blake, Dresden Files. Buffy/Angel, etc. Comics based on tv series/movies seem to be the hot thing these days.

About "Number"
Hurley breaking down when Danielle understands his fear makes me cry with him every time! I love that he is back to being his conscience-keeping, laid-back self after being kind of crazy. "Anybody need a battery?" So awesome!

Patty- Nice catch with the name Thomas! It does mean 'twin'! Another example of the excellent writing, bread crumb trail leaving of TPTB!

Jdam, I had been searching for a use for one Star Wars line, you found it... here's another: Jacob to Walter/The Man In Black/Bad Twin (or maybe, off of what Patty said, maybe his name is Thomas), referring to the body that was brought in the case (whatever the case may be) "Where'd you dig up the fossil?"

And now for the Dark Tower trivia question of the day: What phrase coined by a conservative columnist did Odetta Holmes/Walker not want to be looked at or referred to as that caused her to start riding the city bus and thus leading to the incident that cost her part of her legs and mind? Although this last occured in the subway.( from Drawing of the Three)

Kate's-Tommy-child hood friend
Claire and Aaron's Thomas
Mr. Friendly=Tom
Charlie's friend Tom
I know I missed a couple,
cause I don't have my notes

Forgot to bow to YosoyLocaporDes for his posts a few days ago (and for the compliments). Star Wars is just about the best. You can spoof it a million times; make a million mobisodes; make a million cartoons, anything! It just doesn't ever lose it's vibe. Even when you find people who aren't huge fans (sic), most still have an idea of what you're talking about. If Godzilla and anime is Japan's market, then Star Wars is America's market. No doubt!

Kendall6 - The (almost) exact same phrase was exchanged in Cloverfield; it was the last thing that was said before the monster started his attack on NYC. Apparently, it's catching. Penny said it best though.

ONE LAST S.W. COMMENT (I PROMISE):
Ben (to the D.I.) - "I'm just going out for a bit to check the Tabanna Gas Mines at Bespin. They've been experimenting with the gas again. I won't be gone long, I promise." (does his crooked smirk that he does so well).

ChrsMarlowe: Let's just say there is so much imagery in the movie it's not even funny. You just have to see the movie. Everyone should see the movie. I'll give it a couple of weeks. Remember, same writers as Lost and Fringe.

Just a few more SW (I think I'm running out):
Ben - "Apparently they didn't like me very well at the Academy and decided to take my lightsaber away. They did leave me with this nifty baton though, and let me tell you, I know how to use it!"
Hurley - "Did that bird just say my name." Kate - "No that's just a Mynock. Probably chewing on Smokie leftovers."
Ben to Locke at the Wheel - "You don't want to go down there. If you would have gone on, you'd have froze to death."
Locke to Ben - "What's in there?" "Only what you take with you."
Sawyer to Jack - "You're looking better, kid. Pretty soon you'll be able to pull the ears off an Other."
Jack after firing a round or two off - "Come. Let's get back to the caves. The sandpeople (Others) are easily startled but they'll soon be back; and in greater numbers."
Sun - "O.K. O.K. I do know how to speak Bosche. Ben, you're a ^%$^##&#^$^*$!"
Jin - "Sun, you know how to speak Bosche??? You're a &(%&^$^$^%^&!"
Jack - "Everyone quit talking in Bosche! My head hurts. Where's the cantina?"
Locke to Ben - "You know, you could get to and from the island much faster if you would just invest in a Gungan water pod."
Sawyer to Claire - "Aaron looks better today. He doesn't look as wrinkley. I was beginning to think the father was a Gammorrean Guard."
Shannon - "I might know a little Bosche." (group) "SHUT UP!"
Jack (thinking in his head) - "I would give anything for an medic-astrodroid right about now. Kate's puking, Hurley's fainting. No one else knows what I'm talking about......"
Desmond (talking to Mrs. Hawking for the first time off island) - "That scaffold wouldn't have fallen on that guy if you would've used your Jedi powers to save him." "Why didn't you use YOUR powers?" "I thought you had him! Bloody hell!"
Charlie (at Mos Eisley cantina) - "You all everybody!"
Sawyer (as Han at Mos Eisley) - "Yes Charlie. I have the money. Go and tell Ben I have his $3.4 million. And if you sing that song again......" (loosens his blaster safety holster).
Ben - "Pretty soon I will turn in my baton and get an upgrade to a kempo staff. Have you seen my cousin Darth Maul? Have you? Have you?!"
Sayid to Sawyer - "Pretty soon you'll tell me all I want to know about your Rebel friends. And your hidden stashes. And everything you did with Princess Kate last week. Don't leave out any details."
Jack to Sayid - "All right that's enough. One more remark like that and you'll find yourself on a spice mine outpost and/or Hoth."

(I thought I had just a few. Sorry.)

Fixing the bus - "Hurley, see if you can lock down that stabilizer. And pass me another flat Dharma beer."
Hurley to Miles - "Your Jedi powers are just weird, dude."
Miles to Hurley - "Look who's talking?"
Sawyer to Hurley - "Yeah, porkchop. Go fix the hyperdrive on the bus."
Hurley to Sawyer - "You don't want to upset a Wookie. Remember the A.W. I gave you on the beach???"
Shannon - "Oh look, Boone. I got a fish. And I didn't even use a pole or anything. My Jedi powers must be improving."
Every male on the island (sighing) - "Yeah right."
Pilot (when he was found) - "I managed to save most of the pod. Sort of."
Jack to Hurley - "No, I don't see a person in a bathrobe carrying around coconuts. I DID see you try to use your force powers to float one lousy coconut in the air. You couldn't even control that and slammed yourself in the gut with it." (Hurley walks a short distance away, reaching for his bowcaster.)
Charlie (at the Looking Glass) - "I found Jar Jar. He has a friend. Oh, they don't look very friendly. I just hope I can complete my mission of disrupting the Imperial communication jamming sequence. Oh, play Cantina #6? No problem!"
After playing the tune - "Run Desmond. Cyclop's got a thermal detinator." Writes &^%&&((&$ the Empire! on his hand and shows it to Des.
Kate to Sawyer - "I saw you with that Palace slave girl last night. Don't you remember all the fun we had swimming out to the island; lying on the beach in the sand?"
Sawyer to Kate - "All I remember is how hard you laughed when I tried to ride that boar and it threw me. It knew my name you know. Really it did!"
Hurley - "I can't wait to play space-chess with Mr. Eko again. Last time his monsters ate all my monsters."
In the famous words of Austin Powers......"And I'm spent!"

LOL - good 'uns, JDAM!

Oh my gosh...what a taxing, sad week for the entertainment industry and for us who are fans of all these spirits, eh?

*Loca smiles and taps OMF on the shoulder*

Can I make one adjustment? Here's where we are in the Hiatus Project - I just didn't want anyone to get confused:

Right? :D

I tell ya, I love the phrase "Deus ex machina" and its meanings so darn much...to make a long story short, last year I became the proud recipient of a completely blank dog-tag-type charm (it came with a necklace at a garage sale) and I had "Deus ex Machina" engraved on it! :D

hippiejewel I was very surprised by Michael's death. Although I wondered how healthy he actually was. A loss that will be felt by millions, for sure.

Jdam Any exciting movie I gather?

More Star Wars madness:
Jack (as Leia): "We have to go back!"
Anybody - "There's nothing to make me believe there's one all-powerful force controlling everything. Just in case I'm wrong, nobody touch anything else on this Island."
Charlie - "I can hold my breath for 4 minutes. I'll be back with Jar-Jar in a bit."
Locke to Ben when he sees his dad in the cell - "Where did you find this old geezer?"
Kate to Jack and Sawyer - "All right boys, I get it. You need to show who has the bigger lightsaber."
Jack to Locke - "Your powers are weak old man."
Rancor (if he could talk) - "I always get Gammorrean guards. An occasional slave girl. I would do anything for a nice tasty survivor or two. You wait your turn, Smokie!"
Rose - "I know Bernard's still alive. I can feel him."
Bernard (while making the s.o.s.) - "Come on you guys. We can't just give up on this. (Oops sorry. Independence Day.)
Sun - "No. I don't know what your talking about. I swear I don't know how to speak Bosche."
Survivors (after they found guns) - "Come on! Let's go bullzeye some Others on the meadow. They're not much bigger than two meters."
When the Dharma bus is discovered - "What a piece of spacejunk! You guys drive around the island in that? You're braver than I thought."
Hurley as R2 - "Come along now. Try and keep up."
Claire plants a big one on Jack and says to Sawyer - "I guess you don't know everything about women yet?" Jack is proud. Yuk.
Borat suddenly jumps in the picture, grabs Claire, plants a big one on her and says - "She is also my sister. She is number 2 prostitute in all of Tatooine." (In case you haven't noticed, I'm a fan of Mel Brooks and Naked Gun style comedy as well.)
When they turn the body over on the beach - "Oh! I thought he smelled bad on his other side."
Jack - "This is your last chance, Ben. Free my friends or be destroyed."
Ben's reply - "Now Jack. That's not done by the rules. You should have seen Kate when I had her over for breakfast by the beach. She expressed her true feelings for me."
Kate's reply - "Jack, I think I'm gonna be sick. I might throw up on you."
Oh, TIME TO STOP........ O.K. One more.
Next season (see Transformers 2 and stretch the grey matter) - "This ground feels weird, Jack. I'm not sure this is rock. This island might not be entirely stable."

I just saw Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. ----------------------- There are no words. The only quote to mention from Star Wars in reference to this movie is "Run, Luke, run! Run as fast as you can to your nearest spaceport and see this movie!" Oh, the stories we can tell after the show! (Well, not on this board since this is Lost).

Hi 'Lagelings!

OMG!!! E-FLAT and JDAM and SPERO, you are just plain slayin' me!!!

Oh nonono, I won't...I CAN'T... let a good thing die:

- Locke to Jack: "I find your lack of faith disturbing."
- Kate to Sawyer:
"Why you stuck-up, half-witted, SCRUFFY-LOOKINGNERF HERDER!"
- Sawyer to Kate:
"AbsoLUTELY, your worshipfulness! Look, I had everything under control..."
- Sayid to Juliet (when they confronted her after she first arrives at Camp Lostie.):
"He doesnt like you." (indicating Sawyer)
"Sorry."
"I don't like you either. You'd better watch yourself, we're wanted men. I have the death sentence on twelve systems."
- Anti-Jacob to Jacob:
"The more you tighten your grip, the more Losties will slip through your fingers."
- "New Otherton. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious."
- Juliet:
"Negative, didnt go in. Just a peckin on the surface."

And OF COURSE:

"I'm Desmond Hume, I'm here to rescue you!"

Sorry, Kinda changed gears; a side effect of goofiness or insanity (Triple Wink). We could really run with this Star Wars thing.
(These aren't all real quotes, to protect the innocent actors).
Claire - No wonder the Doc wouldn't hit on me. I'm his sister!
Hurley - Ggggrroooowwwllll. (Chewie style) with his face stuffed full of Dharma chips and dip.
When the Monster is heard (anyone to anyone) - Your Jedi powers are far greater than mine, Master. You go first.
Widmore - Everything is proceeding as I have forseen. Hehehehe...wait. Who moved my island?
Sawyer (to anyone he's 'been with') - Sorry sweetheart. I haven't got time for anything else. No, we can't turn the wheel and do it all over again!
Bernard and Rose (as Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru) - Darn kids. Always running off to an adventure, dreaming of the Dharma Academy. We'll just stay put.
The Others (creeping up on tents as Jawas) - We've got that little runt R2 now!
Kate to Jack when captured by the Others - (Whispering) Jack. The sandpeople. They wear fake beards.
And finally, even though this is fun, if we don't find some way to end this madness: C3PO - "Oh, this is suicide. The odds of successfully navigating this narration is approximately 4,815,162,342 to 1."

Lightsabres are way cooler than Russian semi-automatic rifles anyday, but Lost has a better storyline and a better monster (well, that Rancor and Wampa were both pretty scary). For non-Star Wars fans, the Wampa was a snowbeast like the Abominable Snowman (wink) and the Rancor, well....looked a little like a toned-down version of Clovie. (Double Wink).
Everytime I see the love triangles in Lost (Jack, Kate and Sawyer) (Kate, Sawyer and Juliet) (Jack, Juliet and Ben) (Godwin, his wife and Juliet) I always think of Young Frankenstein. "Say nothing, act casual." I'm extra goofy today...must be the Slusho. Mixing colas is dangerous, but Slusho......WHOA!
