Cool find, Simplist. Robyn Hitchcock is a brilliant lyricist.

I'd agree that influencing another's choice with incomplete or misleading information can be dangerous. It's part of the double-edged sword of free will. That is, we are free to choose, but the meaning of our choices is something that might be difficult to discern if we only use sense without reference.

We've talked about this before, but I'm very convinced (for the moment anyway) that the story TPTB are presenting as a continuous narrative is not. We are seeing scenes, senses if I understand the distinction correctly, that allow us perspective on the greater reference. From that we may draw meaning.

I think Jacob and the MiB are Hesperus and Phosphorus, the evening and morning stars, two names for the same thing. But one represents sense, and the other reference. Both may be necessary to reach an understanding of meaning.

When Ben chooses the island (and his personal gain) he sacrifices Alex. When Ben abandons his personal gain, he saves Alex. Ben's confession to Ilana shows that he understands the meaning of his choice. The two Bens are different quantum manifestations of "Ben-ness", but the meaning of "Ben" is the story we (the viewers) are seeing.

I'm a 360er now... but I actually heard some one referred to as "a little too 253 for my taste." Which at first hearkened me back to the old Almost Live skits in the 80's but then I got a bad taste in my mouth. I suppose it was my conscience.

The Smoke of Satan

Oh small opera small is thy sting
Of a truth that is of such a terrible thing
For those weak in the family
Begat those weak in the spine
Who surrender so easily
To the dark fallen kind
Yet no need to worry
Just little white lies
What does it hurt
To just compromise
Yet words were a gift
A gift with such power
That will soon lead to war

Upon His day and His hour

LOST in the Cusp of a Dream

LOST in the land of inbetween
Not alive
Not dead
Not daring to believe what my senses have seen
Old memories made new
New memories made old
A circle
A cycle
Coming round to the cusp of a secret untold
A love of science
A science of love
Nothing has the power to undo
That which has been blessed from above
The pairing of power
The power of pairing
Oh the magic for to find a true love sharing
Each mark defines a choice
Each choice defines a mark
Such is the quest that we now embark
Before
Behind
Behind
Before
Black stone
White stone

With love endure

Re: LOyal to the queST #17:...Lead Us Home

sorry i'm late

‘Do any of us, except in our dreams, truly expect to be reunited with our hearts’ deepest loves, even when they leave us only for minutes, and on the most mundane of errands? No, not at all. Each time they go from our sight we in our secret hearts count them as dead. Having been given so much, we reason, how could we expect not to be bought as low as Lucifer for the staggering presumption of our love.’ – Stephen King

"I think we underestimated the life on this planet. The people have so much courage. Here they are hurtling through space on a molten rock at sixty-seven thousand miles an hour and the only thing that keeps them from flying out of their shoes is their misplaced faith in gravity." - Dick Solomon

Avast ye poxy cur, ye lilly-livered swine, ye rusty scuppers, will ye take this bilge rat back 'board The Raven, even were ye to see me only from time to time? I might add that the ship looks in tip top shape, thanks to ye Cin, and to the fine work of all.

Cap'n, permission to come aboard, sir?

P.S. Micheal Emerson truly amazes with the masterful skill at his craft.

My son is my hero. His strength is true inspiration. If I'd braved one-tenth of the struggles he faces each day, I would be called courageous.
