. I have watched the pilot so many times and still to this day get goose pumps watching jack and kate. Old friends in deed.. tv is just not the same anymore.
like the birth of my 30 year old daughter, i will never forget that day when we ( daugher and I ) stood in front of the tv and watched the pilot. it was the most intense and mind blowing show i had ever seen.
they kept us guessing till the end .. and still to this day I keep wondering about things.
I tried to explain to my friend, who caught up and watched all the episodes for the last season, how much more there was to the show. The ARG's during the hiatus and The Fuselage and all the people discussing the show on-line. It was so much more than a TV show it was as interactive as you wanted to make it.

Yeah that was so big a part of the overall experience. All the research and speculating were great but can't be repeated even in rewatches. I've done one every 2 months since it ended. It is like seeing old friends again. I I feel like I know them. I know their habits, pasts and secrets.

Yes that is all true.....but I am not sure that MIB is Smokey? I am leaning towards the theory that Smokey was running around the island without a leash, so to speak, until MIB got out of his "prison" (cabin) and then MIB was able to take over Smokey somehow? Not sure exactly how my theory goes, but just not convinced yet that MIB was running around the island freely during season 1?
One of the Missing Pieces mobisodes is actually the first scene in LOST, where the monster as Christian tells Vincent to go off and find Jack and wake him up because he has work to do. It doesn't mean Vincent couldn't still be another smoke monster although I think Vincent is Vincent. It does mean Vincent's moral colour is somewhat murky though, likewise when he brings a withered corpse arm to Hurley much later...
