I'm Just Not That Into YouA place to talk about the things you don't like about the character. If you like the character you might want to avoid this section.
I think Lost would be 110% better without the Sawyer character. We've already discussed this, but Sawyer's story isn't important in the overall scheme of Lost, therefore, Lost's story wouldn't suffer if Sawyer were indeed written off.
ITA!
Sawyer's story was never important in Lost. And now his story is totally done. That's why he hasnt had a centric eppy since 3.04, almost 2 years ago He wasnt written off because he's a popular character, but I'd def enjoy the show a lot better without Sawyer.

Why the character of Sawyer is popular boggles my mind. I know this has already been discussed, but what is there to like honestly? His personality is awful and his story revolves around a petty triangle involving him, Jack and Kate, so it has to be just his looks that is keeping him on the show due to the amount of women that find him attractive.

He is not cool. He is a grade A punk. Correction: lower than a punk.
Apparently those qualities equal hotness, badas* and the best thing since sliced bread. If all of the characters had those qualities, Lost would be the most watched show on television and last for 10 more years.

He's actually outside that story in my opinion. Always and forever looking in............

Nah, he's strongly involved in all of that ridiculousness. If not, he wouldn't be hailed as a saint and one that jumped off of the helicopter so that his one true love could have a good chance of surviving.
He can be involved all he wants, he is still on the outside and he has been from the beginning. And he's even known that. And please don't say "his one true love", because I will always find it very very hard to believe that he jumped Ana Lucia in like 5 seconds (& he didn't even know her last name..................hell, he barely knew her first name), BUT two days later was head over heels in "unconditional love" with someone else. That is the funniest part of the whole story. But that is Sawyer.

Well "one true love" aren't my words . You should know by now that I hardly consider Sawyer the Romeo of Lost lol. In fact, Sawyer has demonstrated to me that he's still the same SOB that first crashed on the island over 90 days ago. His personality and mantra are still the same, as was demonstrated plenty in his scenes of season four. Character arc really? Please. His behavior toward Kate (outside of the helicopter scene) in season four remained quite ruthless and callous, just like the previous seasons. Yet I'm supposed to believe that he's some changed man, or rather some hero that has shown unconditional love towards her? I'll stick with my original view instead of glorifying the man for every action that has some decency lol. Besides, those actions are far and few in between.
