i remember in the tv guide magazine that she covered she said how invested she was in every little detail of the character, kate. she wanted to know everything about what she would be doing, even what kind of underwear she'd have on. there is no way that someone this involved with a character and a show for 5 solid years would not see it through to the end. i think that her fellow actors would be very disappointed unless of course, it was a very personal and crucial decision. but with them saying that she's already auditioning would be ridiculous. the writers would insist on her being under wraps until the time of her death (if it were true at all).
of course it makes me nervous, but i just think that her storyline is just too important to kill her off before the series is over. plus, killing off the main female role is stupid as well.
You could put Jack and Kate on a New York City street and have them pass each other at rush hour on a Wednesday morning. And they would stop and turn, slowing to watch each other go by. They know each other within the context of a universal recognition. They have met before this life. And, they will meet again, in another.
Sorry not a member but was passing through as I was looking for some insight to Kate who has me really confused right now.
Anyway, regarding the spoiler:
1. Does Evangeline Lily even need to audition at this point? If so she might want to consider new representation and
2. If she does still need to, you have to remember that prior to Lost she didn't have a lot of experience... if she's auditioning she might just be trying to get her feet wet and test the waters again...the end of the series is almost near...Evi gotta keep eating after Kate is gone if she's gonna stay beautiful and strong

thanks for pointing that out freighter cuz it just occurred to me that maybe she was auditioning for a movie to do during hiatus.
she's not leaving.

There is no way in this world that the writers would be stupid enough to kill off the main female lead. Kate is involved with too many characters storylines, and again she's the female lead. Juliet is the second female in line, and although she's one of my favorite characters, she just doesn't have the connections to all of the losties that Kate does. If they kill Kate off, then what's the deal with the writers killing off femals left and right?
I don't think Evi is going anywhere until the natural conclusion of the show in 2010

^^^I'm sorry but I'm going to be worried till the Season 5 finale.
Everyone sounds so dodgey and trying to avoid my concerns.
Network can't confirm or deny it, the zap2it reporter hasn't responded to my emails (no threats or swearing), and I just cannot trust publications, blogs, or unnamed publicists.
I can undestand that. Yeah Networks wouldn't confirm things like that, but sometimes they do, and promote actors leaving, but I dot trust zap2it one bit, they dont seem like a huge publications with this sort of stuff.

I will honestly be done with Lost (sorry Sayid & Ben) if Kate dies.
I'll still watch, but the show would loss so much without Kate, that the final episodes would be way way down in quality without her.

I agree, they cannot kill off Kate, the female lead. That is succide for the show. Juliet couldn't hold up being lead female, I just cant see that. We basically only got Sun and Juliet. Theres no way they would leave us with just two female leads. Geeze thats so little females, compared to 10 males.
When I first heard about this, I absolutely busted out laughing.
I try my very best to keep away from spoilers this season, but that was just so over the top and in left field that I couldn't understand why Dark would ever show that on his website. Seriously, I just lost a lot of respect for that website for even remotely thinking that gossip would be true. That is just as bad as in season two when they said that Jack was getting killed off just because he was doing We Are Marshall. How idiotic are some people?
I'm telling you, the last people you are going to get killed are going to be Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and Ben. Everybody else I could understand if they die before the series finale, but those five, not ever going to happen until maybe the last episode.
