How did Tom get back and forth from NY? The sub was destroyed by then!!

Just need to establish a timeline

2 months in-Michael and Walt leave
2 months and 1 week later- Kate and Sawyer escape
2 months and up to 2 weeks later- Locke blows up the sub

The sub was the only way on and off the island. Locke and Ben had a nice conversation about why Ben had not destroyed the boat and Ben said that people need to know that they still had a way off the island.

3 months in (probably a little less)- Tom kicks it

We saw Tom hanging out at the barracks up until it blew up, he was playing football with Jack. If the sub was the only way on and off, how did he get back and forth???

I'm not sure but i bet someone says something alone the lines of 'time travel' or 'body double/twins'. lol.

My opinion, (assuming your timeline is correct) there is probably more than that submarine. Ben obviously needs a way off, and it kinda seems really stupid to only maintain ONE such way (the sub). Frankly, I can't recall just now, but whatever happened with Desmond's sailboat? could that be an option? or perhaps just another boat docked somewhere else...

Either way, I'm assuming theres another way off that we just haven't seen yet...

I'm really confused on the timeline here. So Tom had 2 weeks to get off the island, meet Michael, and then go back to the island? I wasn't sure how long it had been between the time Michael and Walt left the island and when Tom got shot.

Well, there was probably more than one sub. But, I think the key here was when Tom said, "some of us," in response to Michael's question about the Others' ability to leave the island.

I think there's more to the story.

We all know Ben's a liar. The sub hasn't even been proven as a legitimate way to travel to and from the island - Juliet was unconscious when she took her trip to the island, so it could be some type of ruse. I'm sure there are more ways to get to and from the island that we know yet. Ben still has plenty of secrets.

channeling? I thought that channeling was when someone's soul entered another person's body and spoke through them, but physically you would see the body of the host? Am I getting what you mean by channeling right?
